Introduction
Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for the H/PC Pro devices. It resolves problems and adds features with/to Pocket Applications (Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Inbox, Pocket Internet Explorer, Network and Printing, and World Clock.
If in Start - Settings - Control Panel - System, your H/PC Pro says that you are running version 3.01 of the applications, this patch is in ROM. Do not install this patch.
I recommend that you read the README.HTM included in the download for specifics of any of the following issues:
- Users using Inbox receiving attachments in UUEncode - specific servers. Also supports longer message descriptions and e-mail names.
- On device PowerPoint 97 converter. Adds support to view PowerPoint 2000 slides created using the High Quality converters.
- Performance and consistency enhancements to Pocket Internet Explorer
- World Clock - Added Canberra, Australia. Corrects the time zone for Brisbane, Australia. Corrects the daylight savings time switching for Australian cities.
Conclusion
I recommend that you install Service Pack 1 if you are using e-mail, live in Australia, use Office 2000 or need any of the other enhancements listed.
