I have a handheld pc compaq...and it uses windows c.e v3.0..i syncronized the handheld pc with my computer but i can't connect to the internet trough my PC.Or is it better to asc if it's possible?
If your PPC runs WM2002 or later OS, your Activesync (version 3.7 or later) will show an Internet Passthrough checkbox under Options on the PC. If you have a PPC2000 device, this option is not available.
Unfortunately for you, that processor family has never been supported for Activesync Internet Passthrough. Only ARM-equipped devices (and related, such as X-scale or whatever) are supported, and only PPC2002 and later versions.
I used to know a guy in LA who used an early Compaq Palm-size PC (maybe something like you have?) for much of his web access. He used an infrared dialup modem. That's pretty slow, but he found it useful. There may be one out there somewhere for cheap, and it may work, configuring the device correctly, or it may be a waste of money and time. There may even be a serial modem you could use... but really, it's up to you how much research you want to do about what accessories were made which might be compatible with your model. If your time gets used up too much, it may be worth investing instead in a newer device.
