OK, I've seen a few posts about using win9x and 3.1 and so on on pocketDOS, but I am part of a dev team for a 32 bit protected mode OS called Dex4u, and I can't get it to see any of the DOS drives when it makes the jump to protected. I'm pretty sure I tried the real-mode driver as well, I was wondering if anyone else had come across this sort of error?
PocketDOS is a DOS-level PC emulator, and is likely to stay this way. This means it emulates enough of a PC to run DOS and real-mode operating systems. In order to run protected mode operating systems (like ReactOS, Win9x etc.), a lot more hardware has to be emulated. In particular, the hard and floppy drive hardware, which is not currently emulated in any way. You will need to configure your system so that it uses the PocketDOS BIOS (Int 13) for disk access.
Thank you for your interest. _________________ PocketDOS - Adds DOS compatibility to your Pocket Computer.
