Please make sure that you run the supplied MOUSE.COM utility some time before running the game (this is run by default in the ROM-DOS AUTOEXEC.BAT) if you are using another DOS version, to enable the built-in mouse driver.
Visual Basic 1.0 works in Windows 3.0 loaded in Standard mode ("win.com /s" only with bochs plugin). Unfortunately using mouse causes crash when Windows started in Standard mode. VB is useless without mouse.
Pool of Radiance
Pools of Darkness
Death Knights of Krynn
Gateway to the Savage Frontier
I think pretty much the entire AD&D Gold box series works but the 4 I listed are the only ones I have tested. They do not need any plugins, and are very playable.
rules of engament
space conquest (mouse pointer misaligned)
star legions (very fast loading but the display is too large to see on the screen, changing it increases the viewable area but makes the text unreadable.)
conquered kingdoms (this has the same display issues)
ega trek and vtrek both work but also have the same display issues as starlegions
stellar conquest 3 (again display is too large)
imperium (very playable)
legend (mouse pointer misaligned)
art of war
angband version 2.82
stronghold (mouse pointer misaligned)
None of the above games need plugins to run if memory serves me correctly. I think that some of the games that have the mouse problem can be setup to play using only the keyboard.
I have tried:
Decisive Battles of the American Civil War Vol.3 and Panzer Battles both from SSG, which are very playable on pocketdos.
Also working without any problems:
Liberty or Death from Koei,
Battles of Napoleon form SSI
Redstorm Rising and
But I cannot seem to run one of my favorites: Omega from Origin, anybody has an idea how to get this running, because it runs quite fine on my ipaq 3970 until I enter an evaluation simulation and then the program hangs after a few secs... This would be a super game for pocketdos!
