My encrypted volume suddenly won't mount! I use differnet passwords for my global (to get in) and volume (to mount it). My global password still gets me in just fine, but when I try to mount my encrypted volume, I am told that the password is invalid.
I have never changed it and know that I am typing it correctly, so something appears to be wrong with the encrypted version. I just used it yesterday and dismounted the volume without any problems.
I would suggest trying a soft reset and seeing how that goes.
Did that -- no luck.
Did you give it a new password yesterday?
No -- I've been using the same global password and volume password since I started using the app.
Perhaps itís been re-saved as the global password?
I did try the global just to be sure -- no luck.
On a side note, I REALLY wish your app did not default to "Change password to new global password." I don't like having to uncheck that every time -- and risk forgetting and changing my volume password. I have different passwords on volumes for a reason -- the program shouldn't DEFAULT to trying to change them for me.
Unfortunately there is no backdoors in our software and once itís encrypted it virtually impossible to decrypt without the password.
I figured so. No huge data lost -- but not something I want to see when I actually DO have real data in there...
