Introduction
The Compaq Dual PC Card Sleeve offers dual PC Card slots sleeve for the iPAQ Pocket PCs. The Dual PC Card Sleeve is available for $199.95.
Features of the Dual PC Card Sleeve
The Dual PC Card Sleeve offers dual type II (5mm) PC Card slots with separate eject buttons. The slots are stacked on top of each other so you can use a type III hard drive if you want. The slot closest to the iPAQ will support modems and Ethernet cards that have external packages that stick up from the cards. The Dual PC Card sleeve also ships with a type II CompactFlash adapter as well as a rom upgrade which is required to for the original Pocket PC to use it. Also, the Dual PC Card Sleeve has two built in lithium polymer batteries to power the slots and trickle charge the iPAQ. The batteries can be recharged while the iPAQ is charging or through the iPAQ external charger.
Conclusion
While I like the Compaq Dual PC Card Sleeve, I found it larger than the iPAQ and it really makes the iPAQ a workout to hold for extended period of time. At least I can use 2 peripherals like a video card and a wireless LAN card at the same time with the Dual PC Card sleeve. Overall I suggest getting the Compaq Dual PC Card sleeve if you want to use two PC Card peripherals at the same time.
