mySYWARE Adds New Database Applications to Freeware Library for Pocket PCs

Cambridge, MA (July 23, 2001). SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of intuitive database tools for business and personal productivity, today announced three new additions to the mySYWARE library of FREE database applications for Pocket PC handhelds. Available for download at www.mysyware.com, the latest additions to the freeware library include Patient, Golf Manager, and myDiner‹applications designed, respectively, to track patient care, golf game results, and dining preferences. These newest applications join the growing family of mySYWARE software; each application is based on Visual CE®, SYWARE¹s database development toolset that simplifies and streamlines the creation of portable database applications.

"The mySYWARE Library is a showcase of software applications that demonstrates how anyone can quickly and easily create a database to help manage the ever-increasing amounts of information that inundate us each and every day," explained Sy Danberg, President of SYWARE. "With the right tools, any reasonably computer literate person can build their own handheld application to make life more organized, productive, and fun. Freely available to anyone for download, the mySYWARE library applications cover personal uses, like organizing a music library, as well as professional applications, such as managing inventory or monitoring patient care."

Like all mySYWARE applications, the new programs are designed for immediate use by anyone with minimal handheld or desktop PC experience. The mySYWARE library provides "database applications for the real world" portable applications designed to create almost unlimited opportunities to improve mobile productivity for personal and professional needs. The new applications include:

€ Patient‹An application designed by a physician to keep track of patient records. Windows open within the electronic form, allowing the physician to record data such as vital signs, allergies, lab work, medical procedures, exam findings, patient instructions, and follow-up tests. In addition to providing physicians with a portable patient tracking system, the application can also synchronize with a hospital¹s central medical records system.

€ Golf Manager‹An electronic scorecard to keep track of golf games. The application tracks the scores of up to four people in a round, including scores for individual holes and the entire round. Scores can be tracked over time and accessed by criteria such as partner names, location, score, and date played.

€ MyDiner‹A user-submitted application that allows users to keep track of favorite restaurants by criteria such as cuisine, city, and price range. Users can record pertinent data about each restaurant including the address, telephone number, fax, web site, food quality, price range, and special notes.

mySYWARE Freeware Library
Patient, Golf Manager, and myDiner are the latest additions to the mySYWARE library of Pocket PC-based database applications. The library continues to grow with additional applications under development, both by SYWARE its customers who have created their own applications using Visual CE.

Applications are available at no charge by downloading from the mySYWARE web site (www.mysyware.com). The software installs automatically on Pocket PC handhelds. All mySYWARE applications come with their own runtime version of Visual CE, which means that there are no hidden costs and nothing to buy.

Intuitive Application Development Tool
All applications are built using Visual CE, SYWARE¹s intuitive database and forms building tool for Pocket PCs and Windows CE handhelds. Visual CE provides a drag & drop interface that allows developers as well as non-programmers to easily create their own portable database solutions. Data created using a Visual CE application can be shared by beaming between handheld devices, or automatically synchronized with a desktop PC. Available for as little as $79, Visual CE has been used by thousands of business professionals, physicians, and developers to quickly build customized applications without coding.
