Did you know that Inbox supports LDAP
(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)? With LDAP, you can look
up the names of other users on your corporate network.
This feature is for corporate customers,
since most Internet service providers (ISPs) do not provide LDAP.
To configure LDAP in Inbox, follow these steps:
- Click Tools and then click
- Click the Address tab.
- Click the Add button and you
will be see the input screen for the LDAP information. Just
enter the name of the LDAP directory and the server name. If you
do not know the name of the LDAP directory or server, please
contact your network administrator for assistance. You also have
the option to check a box for server authentication in case you
must log on to access the directory. You can also check the box
to have the names checked against this server, which is on by
- When you are finished, click OK.
You are now ready to use LDAP the next
time you compose a message -- just click the Check Names icon at
the bottom of the screen.
