Article: Windows Mobile 5.0 Soft Reset

As you may know the Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PCs provide a way to "reboot" them. This process is called a soft reset. However with Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PCs, users need to ensure that all data stored in ram is written to flash before performing a soft reset. If you do not follow this process, you may corrupt some data on your Pocket PC. This is different than prior Windows Mobile devices that store data in ram.

Created a databse of documented Exchange ActiveSync error codes and solutions. This webpage is an interactive table you can sort based on the error code for Windows Mobile 2002 or 2003 as well as Windows Mobile 5.0 error codes. Also, you can search the web page for these error codes.

Update: ActiveSync 4.x Troubleshooting Guide

Added information about Verizon Wireless E-Mail and Vodaphone Mail causing ActiveSync to disconnect.  Added information about incompatibilities with Symantec Antivirus File System Autoprotect and Internet Worm Protection.  Added information regarding RNDIS adapter with the File and Print Sharing causing the network connection of the PC disconnecting.  Added information on how to fix MAPI32.DLL issues which can prevent the installation of ActiveSync.

Update: Mobile Information Server / Outlook Mobile Access/Exchange 2003 ActiveSync

Added information on how to recreate the virtual directory for Exchange Outlook Mobile Access. This resolves some issues where users are unable to sync. Added a solution for 8501004 errors.
